Artist's Comments

It's hard for me to explain the significance this piece has to my progressing as an artist, but hopefully you can just take one good look at it and tell. This piece is 99% hand painted with my trackball mouse.. The 1% is a reference photo I used of clouds for the base of the nebula plane, just so I could get the right perspective. Everything your looking at is painted by me. I truly love this piece more so than my other works, but lemme tell ya.. I never want to paint with a trackball again as long as I live :XD:

The inspiration for this piece stemmed from me thinking of a "Nebula Plane".. A Nebula that literally sits on a plane, rather than just a cloud of gases. So I did my best to portray what I had in my head. But more than just a nebula, I wanted to paint something that people can look at for hours, and get lost in. I want people to render a 3d image of this in their own minds, and see all the little caves and crevices that exist in these spires. Also, there is a much deeper image here than what your actually looking at. I would love if someone could figure it out.

Thank you SO much :iconhameed: and :icongucken: for this DD!!! I'm forever grateful :D And thank you, to everyone else, who viewed, commented, faved, etc!! THANK YOU!

An excellent piece, be amazing as a wide shot, to get an idea of the whole expanse. Btw about that deeper image, can u give us a clue. if u look at it a certain way, the central column looks like a deep cravass(sp) separating 2 planes, either that God's waving his willie at the camera again, lol

An amazing image and very well painted, my only critique is that the second pillar is the same contrast as the foreground one, you need to make the dark area lighter to blend it in better, if you look at the surrounding cloud its more of a mid blue in the shadows so do a similar thing to the farthest pillar. :ahoy:

Destiny is not a matter of chance. It is a matter of choice. It's not a thing to be waited for - it is a thing to be achieved.
